Director of Discipleship & Outreach “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 This testimony has been shared a number of times. However, I never tire of the exhilarating feeling of God’s love I experience with each retelling. As the oldest of four children in a very traditional family I somehow sensed it was my responsibility to set a good example for my younger brother and two sisters. I loved my parents and I believed that I loved God.

Director of Women’s Special Events My journey to finding out about having an intimate relationship with the Lord started in the 1990s. I worked for a Christian chiropractor and met patients and their children who had a special peace and joy about them. I have been a Christian all my life but never experienced the peace that seem to fill these people. I was invited to join a bible study and that is when my journey really began. Prior to that I was going through the motions. As a child, I studied the Old Testament and it left me feeling not being worthy in the site of the Lord. I never felt that my childhood sins were wiped away. They always haunted me and left me feeling guilty. While at the bible studies, I sat with women who loved the Lord. They prayed openly. Director of Prayer Micah 7:7 “There is power in persistent prayer” These past seven years have been such a growing, maturing experience for me. After my husband’s discouraging diagnosis, and struggling to accept what the doctors had concluded, I turned my attention to the Lord in prayer. I searched encouraging scriptures on healing, faith, trust, surrender, perseverance, and above all the power of persistent prayer. I’ve kept these promises handy, for they stand mighty against any challenge. Although we have not seen complete healing yet, persistent prayer has pulled us through several bad reports on Chris’ health. We’ve experienced the miraculous hand of God upon us both, as Chris has bounced back over and over again after each downturn. He’s come to believe in the power of prayer, and the Lord has taken us both on such a ride, He takes our breath away! |
