On March 9, 2018, our Lord blessed Her Life Speaks’ 10th Annual Retreat with themes such as unity and love. Our guest speaker, Deidra Riggs, after giving her own life testimony, shared words of truth and His love for us from scriptures. She proclaimed to us the testimony about God that ultimately moved women’s emotions to a higher climate, just as the apostle Paul wrote in his letter in 1 Corinthians 2:1, “And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.”
Serving as a table leader that day, I was surrounded by multi-cultured Christians and non-Christian women. Throughout the retreat I heard comments like, “Deidra is not a powerful speaker” or “I’m not sure if she is filled with the Holy Spirit”. I realized that the speaker was not fulfilling their personal expectations they came for, so I started praying in the Spirit to my Abba Father, saying “what is going on, my Lord?” “I know your (His) presence is here with us, and your cloud of glory upon us”. Then I heard in my spirit Jesus saying, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A weak reed, swayed by the wind, what did you go out to see?” Matthew 11:7-8. Then the Holy Spirit showed me a scripture from 1 Kings. The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by…" 1 Kings 19:11 A great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake... After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still small voice"1 Kings 19:12 Then my Lord continued to speak to me, “is there any greater WORD than my words of LOVE?” Our Lord spoke to us this day with a still small voice, a gentle whisper. So many of us, as Christians expect our revival meetings to have a form of charismatic movements of wind, earthquake or fire (our Lord will show His manifestation of His glory as He wills, as He has done so stating it in the book of Acts until now) yet, let us be careful not to miss His unique ways of revealing, convicting and transforming those who have the ear to hear what the Spirit says to His church or to the believer. As I continued meditating on those words of revelation in my spirit even after our retreat, my Lord awoke my spirit to the fact, to be careful regarding signs and wonders because in the last days the deceiver might use these to deceive even the very elect. My experience at this retreat was one-of-a-kind in regard to the message: "Unity with one another through love, and to serve one another through love by washing each other’s feet" John 13:1-17 Tamar Her Life Speaks Prayer Leader

How beautiful Tamar! Heard you share this at our celebration dinner, and read it again. It touched my spirit and was reminded again to be in tune with the Holy Spirit and His small, still voice, leaving the flesh behind with its unrealistic expectations!

Thank you Tamar for bringing clarity to our very human expectations of how God moves in our world and lives. One of my favorite versus “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 encourages us to sit and listen to the quiet still voice of the Spirit, a challenge in the noisey world of distraction and the voices of media, technology and secularism we live in. Your testimony is an inspiration.

Hello Tamar! I found your post out of the blue because I was editing my website. I typed Tamar's Testimony (the name of my blog for The Most High), and I came across yours. Your name is Tamar and my middle name is Tamara, this is why my blog is called Tamar's Testimony. I do not find this as a coincidence. This post is from April 2018, and I'm in February 2022. Your post has truly blessed me, and I, thank you Ms. Tamar. I have no idea who you are but your post has encouraged me. May The Most High continue to bless you and may he find pleasure in your post. Have a very VERY blessed day ma'am!
